Mechanical packing—also known as compression packing, gland packing, braided packing, or stuffing box packing—is a proven sealing solution used to control fluid leakage around rotating and reciprocating shafts in pumps, valves, agitators, compressors, and other industrial equipment.

Manufactured from high-performance braided fibres such as graphite, carbon, PTFE, aramid, acrylic, and advanced synthetic blends, packing is installed as individual rings within the stuffing box. Controlled gland compression allows the packing to expand radially, creating an effective seal while maintaining the lubrication and heat dissipation required for reliable shaft operation.

AIGI16

 AIGI 16 is braided from PTFE yarn and then coated with high purity graphite , AIGI 16 is a dense braid which ensures excellent leakage control, less lubricant migration, less frictional heat build up and excellent heat dissipation for longer life. As a low-friction packing, AIGI 16 is used widely in general service pump applications, specially for ammonia pump, plunger and reciprocating pump.

AIGI21

AIGI 21 is a low-modulus, continuous-filament, high-carbon fibre packing, double impregnated with PTFE lubricant. It incorporates a unique inorganic blocking agent and corrosion inhibitor to help prevent stem pitting and minimise gas and liquid penetration.

Designed for use in pumps and valves handling water, oil, steam, solvents, acids and alkalis.

Pulp & Paper: Recommended for use as bull rings in combination with AIGI 28.

AIGI24

AIGI 24 is braided from a heat-resistant, high-carbon-content fibre and impregnated with specially formulated lubricants to provide faster pump start-up, reduced friction and improved sealability.

Designed for high-temperature and high-speed applications, AIGI 24 offers excellent heat dissipation and low-friction performance, reducing the risk of overheating associated with traditional carbon fibre packings.

Ideal for pumps, agitators, mixers, condensate pumps, boiler feed pumps and vacuum pumps, particularly in demanding metal industry applications.

AIGI30

AIGI 30 is braided from FDA-compliant PTFE filament yarn and lubricated with a food-grade lubricant, providing excellent sealing performance across a wide range of food and beverage industry applications.

Its dense interbraided construction helps prevent wicking through the packing while providing excellent resilience and responsiveness to gland adjustments.

Ideal for pumps, agitators, mixers, rotary valves, and other rotating and reciprocating equipment where clean, reliable sealing performance is required.

AIGISSP

SSSP is braided from a combination of high-carbon-content fibres and PTFE yarn, then finished with a high-quality graphite lubricant.

The excellent temperature resistance, strength and self-lubricating properties of carbon fibre, combined with the flexibility, chemical resistance and stuffing-box conformability of PTFE, provide outstanding sealing performance in demanding slurry applications.

SSSP is ideally suited to mining, pulp and paper, metals processing, power stations and other severe industrial applications.

AIGI16W

AIGI 16W is 100% ePTFE fiber braid for better sealability. AIGI 16W is a universal valve packing for chemical and low pressuresteam applications. It is a highly effect, long term sealing solution for manually operated valves and its low friction properties make itparticularly suitable for air operated control valves.

AIGI22

AIGI 22 is manufactured from high-strength, high-purity carbon fibre with only minor quantities of braiding agents added. The finished packing provides excellent temperature and pressure resistance.

Designed for demanding high-temperature valve and pump applications handling steam, hot water, solvents, acids and alkalis, AIGI 22 is particularly suited to severe-service applications within power stations and other heavy industries.

AIGI28

AIGI 28 is an interbraided packing manufactured from high-quality carbon fibre reinforced flexible graphite tape. Its exceptional temperature resistance, self-lubricating properties and excellent heat dissipation make it ideally suited to high-temperature and high-speed applications.

The outstanding sealability and strength of the reinforced flexible graphite also make AIGI 28 an excellent choice for demanding valve applications, particularly within power stations.

AIGI95

SSSP93K is a high-performance multi-service packing combining heat-dissipating PTFE/graphite yarn with high-strength, lubricated aramid yarn.

The PTFE/graphite yarn provides excellent conformability to the shaft and stuffing box bore, delivering superior sealability and leakage control, while the aramid-reinforced corners provide exceptional strength and resistance to extrusion and abrasion.

SSSP93K is ideally suited to aggressive slurry and abrasive applications in mining, power stations, wastewater treatment, steel and other heavy metal-processing industries.

LANTERN RINGS

Precision Flow & Improved Packing Performance. PTFE Lantern Rings are designed for pump stuffing boxes, providing effective distribution of flush water or lubrication throughout the mechanical packing — helping reduce friction, control temperature and extend packing and shaft life.

AIGI12

 AIGI 12 - is manufactured with high 

quality synthetic fiber yarn, coated with PTFE and graphite lubricant.

The gland packing is economical and an effective packing solution for 

general and light slurry applications.

AIGI23

AIGI 23 is a braided PTFE fibre packing reinforced with high-strength aramid fibre corners. Combining the strength and abrasion resistance of aramid with the excellent lubricating properties and flexibility of PTFE, AIGI 23 delivers outstanding performance in demanding applications.

A post-braiding PTFE lubricant further reduces friction and helps minimise shaft wear commonly associated with aramid fibre packings.

AIGI 23 is specifically designed for aggressive slurry and highly abrasive applications.

AIGI29

AIGI 29 is manufactured from nickel-wire-reinforced flexible graphite yarn, embedded within a knitted nickel wire jacket. The packing is interbraided and treated with specialised blocking agents to enhance sealability and overall performance.

The exceptional temperature resistance of flexible graphite, combined with the outstanding extrusion resistance of nickel wire, makes AIGI 29 an excellent choice for high-temperature, high-pressure steam valve applications.

Its excellent chemical resistance also makes it particularly suitable for demanding valve applications in power stations and petrochemical plants.

AIGI97W

AIGI 97W is a high-performance interbraided packing combining an advanced synthetic composite yarn with a specially formulated break-in lubricant.

The purified colloidal lubricant, combined with the high tensile strength of the composite yarn, helps prevent start-up failure while maintaining consistent lubrication throughout the critical break-in period.

AIGI 97W provides reliable sealing performance, reduced friction and enhanced packing life in demanding industrial applications.
