WHAT ARE MECHANICAL SEALS?
Mechanical seals are precision-engineered sealing devices used to control leakage between rotating shafts and stationary equipment, most commonly in pumps, mixers, agitators and compressors.
In demanding industrial environments, the mechanical seal plays a critical role in maintaining equipment reliability, containing process fluids, protecting personnel and reducing unnecessary product loss and downtime.
Correct seal selection considers the complete operating environment — including pressure, temperature, shaft speed, process media, equipment design and operating conditions.
